Write For Us!

We want to showcase creative talent. If you’re an aspiring writer or illustrator wanting to get your foot in the door or share your work with the world, you’ve come to the right place.

If you want to write for us, check out what type of content we are currently looking for here:

  • Flash fiction, short stories, poetry, or scripts on a theme of ELEMENTS aimed at middle grade, teen and/or young adult readers.

The theme is open to interpretation. Your writing could be related to one of the four elements (earth, water, fire and/or air), or all of them. You might choose to focus on them in the real world, or perhaps as a superpower, or a curse … it’s completely up to you!

  • Feature articles on the writing process aimed towards 11-18 year olds
  • Feature interviews with professional, contemporary Children’s/Young Adult authors/illustrators

Please send submissions, and any further questions, to: paperboundmagazine@outlook.com

Book Reviews/Letters

We are also keen to publish book reviews from readers. If you’ve read a book for Middle Grade, Teens or Young Adults that you just couldn’t put down, we’d love to hear about it.

Please send your reviews to paperboundmagazine@outlook.com. We welcome reviews from all ages but, if you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian to email your review on your behalf. Please ensure your review is no longer than 250 words max. Reviews may be edited. Don’t forget to mention if it’s something we’ve recommended in a previous issue of PaperBound.

Tips: We’d love your reviews to include a bit of detail about the story (without spoilers) along with what you enjoyed about it. We would encourage you to read any previous reviews we have published in our magazine to see what kind of things we are looking for. These are free to download on the ISSUES page of our website.

Please be aware that we are only looking to hear from readers who would like to write a detailed review about a book they’ve loved. In this instance, we are not looking to hear from authors about reviews they have received or seen on websites such as Amazon and Goodreads etc.

PaperBound Magazine focuses on Middle Grade, Teen and Young Adult fiction and writing. So unfortunately we’re not currently looking for reviews of picture books or chapter books.

If you have any questions, please get in touch. We can’t wait to hear about all the books you’ve loved reading!

We would also like to publish letters from our readers. If you have any thoughts about PaperBound, anything you liked, or any questions about kidlit or Young Adult fiction, please send them to paperboundmagazine@outlook.com. We welcome letters from all ages but, if you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian to send them on your behalf. Please ensure your letter is no longer than 250 words max. Letters may be edited.

Please note:

PaperBound is a free magazine so we cannot offer any payment for publication. In submitting your work, you agree you are the sole author of the piece you are sending and give PaperBound permission to publish your work.
